Karan – From Child Labor to Classroom Learning
456A2831.JPG

Karan, a 14-year-old boy from Jhalamand Village, Jodhpur, Rajasthan, was once engaged in hazardous stone-breaking labor alongside his parents and siblings. His father, Mr. Rama Ji, and mother, Mrs. Indra Devi, were firm believers that their children should contribute to the family income rather than pursue education.

When the KnowPro Foundation became aware of Karan’s situation, they took immediate steps to intervene. Their team persistently engaged with Karan’s parents, educating them about the long-term benefits of schooling and the dangers of child labor. After several discussions, the parents agreed to enroll Karan and his siblings in school.

Karan is now enrolled in an age-appropriate class at a formal school while also attending non-formal education sessions at KnowPro Foundation to bridge his learning gaps. With continuous support, he is on track to a brighter future, proving that education can break the cycle of child labor.
